High School Summer Dance Intensive

Thank you for your inquiry about summer 2021. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and mitigation limitations we are not able at this time to affirm whether the July 6-17, 2021 High School Summer Dance intensive residential program will take place. We are proceeding as if it may occur, yet are holding off on accepting applications or deposits until later in March of this year when we will hopefully get a decision from IU based on the status of COVID 19 infections nationally. We may host a virtual on-line workshop, but this would be over four days as opposed to our usual two week in-person workshop.

Ballet Technique, Modern, Contemporary, Repertoire, Dance Styles or Creative Practice, with theory experiences such as Dance History, Music for the Dancer, Laban Movement Analysis etc. sprinkled in, lectures.

9:30 AM - 11:00 PM with ample breaks for lunch and dinner.

Supervised 24 hours a day by professional Resident Advisors (RA’s), IUHSSDI participants are housed in their own section of a university residence hall, with male and female students occupying separate floors. Meals are included in tuition, with each student receiving a meal card for use in one of IU’s many food courts. And, when students are not in class, RA’s facilitate social activities that tap into the rich variety of campus and community resources as well as downtime to enjoy time with peers.
